"The Groundstar Conspiracy"

(1972)

Director: Lamont Johnson

A little-known 70s thriller oddity starring a somewhat wooden George Peppard supported by Michael Sarrazin and Christine Belford, this is an example of one of the earliest American films shot in Vancouver (a practically new Simon Fraser University is prominently figured). The film is well shot and has an odd and effective sound design and presages a reckless surveillance state.
