"The King of Comedy"
(1982)
Director: Martin Scorsese
Director of Photography: Fred Schuler
An uncomfortable, queasy drama about one man's obsession with fame. An odd but great performance from the legend Robert De Niro and more subdued style from Scorsese following "Raging Bull". Still, a classic. Predicted a mentally-ill world built around fame for fame's sake we live in today and clearly a direct inspiration for the lesser "Joker". Masters at work. Bought at Videomatica.
