William Friedkin
August 25, 1935 - August 7, 2023 (87)
Legendary New Hollywood director who burst on the scene with gritty glory in "The French Connection" and won an Oscar. He followed it up with "The Exorcist" and unfortunately peaked. He directed our favorite film "Sorcerer" and went on to make some notable great films in the '80s and '90s, including "To Live and Die in LA", "Blue Chips", and "Killer Joe". R.I.P. to one of the greats.
