"Man With a Movie Camera"

(1929)

Director: Dziga Vertov

Director of Photography: Mikhail Kaufman, Gleb Troyanski

An early Soviet precursor to films like "Baraka" and "Koyaanisqatsi". Using early examples of creative camerawork like split screens, superimposing, slow motion, high speed, dollies and utilizing fast inventive editing to chronicle a city under the dawn of an Industrial Age. Great film. Bought a Videomatica.
